MAMA director Andy Muschietti's adaptation of the epic Stephen King novel IT is probably the film we've covered more than any other over the last couple months, and there's no sign that we'll be slowing down on the IT coverage any time soon. Just as things were starting to get calmer following the release of the film's trailer, which went viral and racked up nearly 200 million views within 24 hours, a new behind-the-scenes picture has dropped online to keep the IT conversation going.
This image, which can be seen below, first showed up on reddit and features the evil clown Pennywise (played by Bill Skarsgard) menacing a character on a monitor while some of the young cast members hang out on set in the background. If you look closely, you'll notice that there's something very creepy about Pennywise's eyes…
Directed by Muschietti from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, Chase Palmer, and Cary Fukunaga (who had previously been attached to direct the film himself), IT
is set in the town of Derry, Maine and follows seven children who come face to face with daily struggles, bullies and the terrifying jokester. When kids start to go missing, the group is faced with their biggest fears as they square off against the evil clown Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back centuries.
Skarsgard is joined in the cast by Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Owen Teague, Nicholas Hamilton, Megan Charpentier, Steven Williams, Tatum Lee, and Javier Botet.
IT is scheduled to reach theatres on September 8th.
