It's quite a coincidence that we just posted the first part of the "Nick Groff Investigates the Queen Mary" two-parter this morning, because we also have some Queen Mary movie news to share.
After producing the haunted house film WINCHESTER, which was inspired by the story of the Winchester Mystery House and partially filmed at the actual house, Brett Tomberlin is set to produce another film about a real haunted location: the QUEEN MARY.
DRACULA UNTOLD's Gary Shore will be directing the film, which is
inspired by stories of hauntings on the famed ocean liner, which was launched in 1934 by the makers of the Titanic. The Queen Mary is now permanently docked in Long Beach, CA and sees 2 million visitors each year drawn by its history and legends.
The QUEEN MARY will actually be shot on board the real Queen Mary, so hopefully the spirits inhabiting the ship won't mind hanging out with a film crew for a while.
Tomberlin and Mali Elfman of Imagination Design Works will be producing QUEEN MARY with Nigel Sinclair and Nicholas Ferrall of White Horse Pictures and Thorsten Schumacher and Lars Sylvest of Rocket Science. Rocket Science is fully financing the project.
Andy Trapani, Brian Gilbert, and Steve Sheldon of Epic Entertainment Group serve as executive producers alongside White Horse's Cassidy Hartmann, IDW's Mark Tomberlin, and Tobin Armbrust.
