Gary Busey fired from indie flick Mansion of Blood after complaints

Here’s a funny little story to kick off your morning: Gary Busey was recently fired from an independent horror flick called MANSION OF BLOOD. Sources say that he was too difficult to work with, but a woman also reportedly complained that he was making inappropriate comments toward her.

Busey rep, of course, sugar-coated the whole thing to not paint him in a negative light: “The situation was plagued by contractual issues and misunderstandings from the outset. Gary considers this episode concluded and has no further comment on the matter.”

Although it’s a shame the flick no longer has Busey power, this is the best thing that could ever happen to it, as it’s now getting free coverage from TMZ and the like. Half of Busey’s scenes were already shot as the character of Zacharia, so the filmmakers opted to rework the script and have another actor fill in for the rest of the shoot.

The flick, currently in production in California, is written and directed by Michael Donahue. The remaining cast includes Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff (The Hoff’s ex-wife), Terry Moore (MIGHTY JOE YOUNG), Carla Laemmle (DRACULA), Said Faraj (GREEN ZONE) and Sarah Alami (“SCREAM QUEENS 2”).

MANSION OF BLOOD is a grueling horror set in an abandoned haunted mansion built in 1912 which is renovated in 2012 by millionaire Mason Murphy. To celebrate his new home he hosts a lunar eclipse viewing party at the mansion, inviting everyone in the small town of River Ridge.

A witch casts a spell under the eclipse to visit with the spirit of her dead boyfriend, but the magic runs out of control due to the magically charged items in the house. Thrown outside of normal space and time, the guests are trapped at the mansion until the curse can be broken.
