Upon hearing about the adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s ON THE ROAD, the only thing I was sure of was Sam Riley. If you’ve seen CONTROL, you know what I mean. As for the rest of the equation I was skeptical and even after seeing the first trailer that hasn’t changed.
I think the film looks a lot better than I figured it would. Not only is it easy on the eyes, but it carries a spirit akin to the book. Now will the entire movie pan out to be like that? I can’t say for sure on that one. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
Synopsis: After the death of his father, Sal Paradise, an aspiring New York writer, meets Dean Moriarty, a wild and infectiously charismatic ex-con. They hit it off immediately. Determined to avoid the pitfalls of a narrow, prescribed life, Sal hits the road, joining Dean on what evolves into a life-changing physical and emotional odyssey. Thirsting for freedom, they discover the world, the ecstasy of experience, the connectedness of humanity and ultimately themselves.
