Gareth Evans delivered two of the most badass films in recent memory with his Indonesian martial arts masterpieces THE RAID and its sequel THE RAID 2, and fans have been clamoring for another RAID film from the in-demand director. But with the gangster film BLISTER in the works, as well as a heist picture he's developing at Universal, it seems that a third chapter in THE RAID saga will have to take the backseat for a while. Here's what Evans had to say about THE RAID 3 recently as he took to Twitter to respond to a fan's question:
We've known for a while that one of Evans' ideas for THE RAID 3 was that the film would take place "two hours before The Raid 2 ends", but his busy schedule has kept him from fleshing out a lot of his ideas and putting them on paper.
As with any project things are subject to change, so here's hoping that an opportunity opens for Evans to knock out the script for THE RAID 3 and get it in front of the cameras before his 2018/2019 projection. But for the time being fans will just have to be patient.
