Adult coloring books have been all the rage the last couple of years and why shouldn't they be? Sometimes a grown-up just wants to grab some crayons and do something artistic without putting in a whole lot of work. Besides, we can color inside the lines, too, so some praise would be nice while you're at it.
In any event, that's who the new GAME OF THRONES Coloring Book is for, as HBO and Chronicle Books have collaborated to make this happen. I don't see your average six year old giving a shit about coloring in the various landscapes of Westeros when they've got Sofia the First and Pokemon keeping them busy. Plus, after catching a glimpse at some of the pages contained within, there's way too much detail for children to be able to handle with their coloring skills. Hell, there may be too much for adults, now that I think about it. This is going to be difficult… like one of those several thousand piece LEGO sets that clearly aren't meant for kids, but provide a challenge for older minds. This is that sort of project.
This isn't the first GAME OF THRONES coloring book to be released with George R.R. Martin releasing The Official Game of Thrones Coloring Book last year. But that one was missing the likes of Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow, so really… What was the point? Here you'll get 60 pages and 35 drawings covering all six seasons to this point, which should keep you busy for a bit. All men must color.
The GAME OF THRONES Coloring Book will be released on November 1.
