Gal Gadot Wraps Filming on Wonder Woman 1984

Director Patty Jenkins has officially wrapped filming on WONDER WOMAN 1984. The warrior princess of Themyscira herself Gal Gadot announced via her Instagram today that the highly anticipated sequel to DC's mega box office hit WONDER WOMAN has finally finished filming. An overjoyed Gadot shared the following sentiment:

"We did it. Again!! And as much as the first time shooting Wonder Woman was amazing, this time was even more unique and special.. We shot in 4 very different locations in 3 countries, and I'm so soooo proud of the almost 1000 crew members who came to set every day, giving everything they have into our movie.
Couldn't ask for better partners on this.. I'm so lucky to have the one and only Patty Jenkins, as my director. She always has our backs, she gives us the wings to dare, and everyday she helped us find the most creative version of ourselves .. I am so grateful to call her my friend. And to our AMAZINGly talented cast who made every day enjoyable and fun, thank you!

Honestly.. Words cannot describe this experience.. This journey was so demanding and challenging but we all came and did our very best every take, every day, putting our all out there and I’m so proud… Thank you universe for this opportunity. I love this character. And thank you to all of you for being the best fans in the world. It was you that made me push myself every day.

I'm so happy and excited, can't wait to share it with you in 2020! ?? Gal"

Originally slated for December 2019, the film was officially pushed to a summer 2020 release, and is expected to now hit theaters on June 5, 2020.

Directed by Patty Jenkins and penned by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and Dave Callaham, the cast for WONDER WOMAN 1984 includes Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Kristen Wiig, Lynda Carter, Gabriella Wilde, Natasha Rothwell, Marla Aaron Wapner, Ravi Patel, Penelope Kapudija, Kelvin Yu, Bern Collaco, and Julian Ferro.

In a world where the Marvel Cinematic Universe reigns supreme, Patty Jenkins shocked fans everywhere when she took a budget of about $130 million and turned it into a worldwide gross of $821.8 million, making WONDER WOMAN the highest grossing origin movie ever. JoBlo EIC Paul Shirey refers to the Amazonian adventure in his review as a "monumental achievement not only for the DCEU, but for the genre as a whole". From the footage shown of the sequel thus far, it looks like DC has another knockout on their hands. I know we'll be there when WONDER WOMAN 1984 soars into theaters in 2020, will you?
