After the sudden death of her father, Shaun Russell (Gabrielle Union) takes her two kids to her father's secluded estate as they prepare to sell the property. After exploring the house’s impenetrable security system, a group of burglars arrive intent on making off with the contents of her father's safe and take her children hostage, but, "No trap, no trick and especially no man inside can match a mother with a mission when she is determined on Breaking In." Directed by James McTeigue (V FOR VENDETTA), the upcoming thriller looks as though it will offer up the perfect amount of action, excitement, and cheese. Bring it on.
If BREAKING IN gets you in the mood for more Gabrielle Union action, I'll take this moment to remind you that a BAD BOYS TV spin-off is currently being developed by NBC which will be centered around Union's character from BAD BOYS II. If you need a quick refresher, Syndey Burnett was an undercover operative with the DEA as well as the sister of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). She was also dating Mike Lowrey (Will Smith), which caused some tension with his partner. The series will find Burnett now working as an LAPD detective and pursuing all the pleasures that Los Angeles has to offer while leaving her past behind. But things will get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna, learns that Syd’s unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. Ruh oh.
BREAKING IN will hit theaters on May 13, 2018.
