FX developing Carrie limited series!

FX and MGM Television are developing a limited series based on Stephen King‘s classic horror novel CARRIE. Though it’s still very early in the development, sources say that this time around, the telekinetic teen will likely be played by either a trans performer or an actress of color.

Meanwhile, PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE and DRESSED TO KILL director Brian DePalma's version starred Sissy Spacek as Carrie White, Piper Laurie as Margaret White, Amy Irving as Sue Snell, William Katt as Tommy Ross, Betty Buckley as Miss Collins, Nancy Allen as Chris Hargensen, John Travolta as Billy Nolan, P. J. Soles as Norma Watson, and Sydney Lassick as Mr. Fromm.

withdrawn and sensitive teen Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) faces taunting from classmates at school and abuse from her fanatically pious mother (Piper Laurie) at home. When strange occurrences start happening around Carrie, she begins to suspect that she has supernatural powers. Invited to the prom by the empathetic Tommy Ross (William Katt), Carrie tries to let her guard down, but things eventually take a dark and violent turn.
