UPDATED: New poster and trailer for Brad Pitt’s World War Z has lots of explosions, aircraft, and zombie marathoners

UPDATE: New poster has been added.  See below!

The first full trailer for WORLD WAR Z, starring Brad Pitt, Matthew Fox, Mireille Enos, David Morse, and James Badge Dale has leaked online a few days early. Featuring a shitload of zombie marathoners, explosions, and aircraft (seriously, they are flying everywhere in this thing), the Marc Forster directed zombie apocalypse actioner looks to have all the ingredients for a summer blockbuster. Now, the question is: Did they mix those ingredients right?

I read Max Brooks‘ novel many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, but took note early on that it would be one hell of an undertaking to adapt to the big screen.  The production has been through its share of shake-ups with reshoots, budget issues, and some controversy between Forster and the studio.  However, it seems like they’ve worked out their differences enough to create something compelling and with a lot of promise.  No doubt, fans of the book will be critical, but that’s to be expected.  Personally, I think it looks pretty cool and it has the potential to rock the house.

Limber up:

United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt) traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments, and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

WORLD WAR Z kicks off the zombie marathon on June 21, 2013.
