If you’re like me in that you can never get enough of Arnold Schwarzenegger, you’re in luck! Netflix is celebrating the success of its new FUBAR series by inserting its star into many of the streaming platform’s hit shows using the power of technology.
In Netflix’s new FUBAR promo, Schwarzenegger introduces subscribers to FUBAR Mode, an elaborate copy-and-paste program that puts Arnold’s face on various characters from Netflix’s library of entertainment. In the video (posted below), Arnold becomes a part of Netflix offerings like Ginny and Georgia, The Queen’s Gambit, Queer Eye, You, Cobra Kai, Emily in Paris, The Umbrella Academy, Wednesday, and more!
According to Variety, Schwarzenegger’s new show has planted a firm seat atop the Netflix Top 10 most-viewed TV titles in English on the platform. FUBAR has bumped Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story from the top in the May 22 – 28 viewing window. Arnold’s lead television debut opened to 88.94 million hours viewed in its first four days since it started streaming, which made it the most-viewed title in this interval.
FUBAR shows what happens when a father and daughter discover their relationship is a lie and they are each CIA operatives. As the two join forces, the eight-episode series will depict themes of family dynamics with humor, action, and spies.
Netflix’s FUBAR offers a hilarious look at Schwarzenegger – who is 76 years old – getting back to his action roots. While Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) does most of the heavy lifting in the hand-to-hand department, Arnold still displays his chops while dispatching goons like a pro. There’s also plenty of humor throughout the series, with the daddy/daughter duo bickering about poor life choices and co-workers razzing Schwarzenegger about his relationship aspirations.
Schwarzenegger and Barbaro star alongside Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, Gabriel Luna, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Barbara Eve Harris, and Fabiana Udenio. Arnold executive produces alongside creator and showrunner Nick Santora.
What do you think about FUBAR Mode? Is the program a genius marketing tool, or is seeing Schwarzenegger’s head on Anya Taylor-Joy’s shoulders too disturbing for words? Let us know what you think in the comments.
