FUBAR makes number one on Netflix’s Top 10

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s debut as the lead in a television series comfortably blasts its way on to the top of the Netflix charts.

Suffice it to say — he’s back. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the action star of the 80s and 90s who needs no introduction, has been gearing up for a big year. The former Mr. Olympia was cheekily given the title of the Chief Action Officer over at the Netflix offices since the star has recently partnered up with the streamer for an in-depth documentary of his life and career titled simply Arnold, and recently, he’s made a return to action comedy with a series for Netflix, titled FUBAR.

Arnold has had a series of underwhelming performances in theater-released films in the past decade, where his only real moneymakers were the Terminator sequels and Expendables films. Now, Variety is reporting that Schwarzenegger’s new show has planted a firm seat atop the Netflix Top 10 most-viewed TV titles in English on the platform. FUBAR has bumped Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story from the top spot in the May 22 – 28 viewing window. Arnold’s lead television debut opened to 88.94 million hours viewed in its first four days since it started streaming, which made it the most-viewed title in this interval.

Meanwhile, Queen Charlotte had fallen down to third place with 42.9 million hours viewed which is still strong, although it had garnered 82.39 million hours viewed in the previous week. Queen Charlotte‘s third place ranking falls below the spin-off to the To All the Boys films, XO Kitty, which placed at number two with 63.78 million hours viewed during the viewing window, pushing its total to 135.86 million hours viewed in its first 11 days of viewing.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been asked when he would do another project akin to his smash 90s action comedy True Lies, which was made by action auteur James Cameron. Schwarzenegger has been promoting that this series is the perfect companion piece to that film. In FUBAR, the Austrian star is not the only one holding the secret; he now also comes to find that his own daughter is working for the CIA. His daughter is portrayed by one of the breakout stars of last year’s summer blockbuster, Top Gun: Maverick, Monica Barbaro.
