During the latest casting session for his upcoming film ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, director Robert Rodriguez didn't have to look too far. He has conscripted From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series actress Eiza González to join the ensemble, as an as-yet unannounced character. González, who plays the notorious vampire stripper Santánico Pandemonium, was previously known for her work on the telenovela True Love.
The James Cameron-produced manga adaptation ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL centers on:
a female cyborg that is discovered in a scrap yard by a scientist. With no memory of her previous life except her deadly martial-arts training, the woman becomes a bounty hunter, tracking down criminals.
González will be joining a cast that already includes Rosa Salazar as the title character, Jackie Earle Haley and Ed Skrein as villainous cyborgs, Mahershala Ali as Vector, the man who runs the gladiator game Motorball,Christoph Waltz as Alita's mentor, and Keean Johnson as her love interest.
ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL begins filming in Austin, Texas this month.
