Friday the 13th: The Game release date update

Like many of you I have been gathering all the info I can find on the upcoming FRIDAY THE 13TH video game, called, get this, FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME. The team behind the scenes seems to exude an genuine love and understanding of all things Jason, Voorhees, Camp, Crystal, and Lake.

That said, the team has posted the release date for awhile now as "early 2017." Now unless you are like my last girlfriend and have zero concept of reality, then you've realized we are, in fact, currently in "early 2017." So, what exactly do the developers mean by early 2017? Shouldn't they be a bit more specific at this point?

Well, no worries. Turns out, like most of the world, the team behind the scenes of the game are just as excited to release the game as you or I. They just need to officially pass console certification. A lead team member share his official (very long) official statement on the matter.

To sum up, he writes:

The only reason you haven’t seen a release date is because we have to pass console certification.

So here’s my promise to you. Once we pass certification we are considered “Gold”. The very second that happens, we can release a date.

That's for the heads up, dude!

If you have a few days to kill, you can head over to the website yourself and check out the FULL statement. Be my guest. Just click HERE. But for the rest of us we can take this simple quote as an acknowledgment that things are, to the best of the team's ability, moving forward smoothly. They just have to wait out all the red tape now.

As always, we will keep you up to date on all things FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME and I will personally jump right back on here, at any hour of the day, to let you guys know when the game finally gets its official (specific) release date.
