Friday the 13th The Game: New trailer & Tom Savini’s Jason revealed!

The guys behind FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME took to the PAX East 2017 convention yesterday and unveiled not only a new ‘Killer’ trailer but also more in-depth shots of Tom Savini’s new Jason design! This is all amazing stuff! 

You can check out the new trailer and the new Savini-Jason design below, but let me just say that the new Jason design is f*cking rad. I am over-the-f*cking-moon for the Freddy-claws in the mask, and while I didn’t initially dig the spikes on the shoulder bit, I then realized that if Jason, in true fashion, was going to be throwing b*tches over his shoulder and stomping off with them, then those spikes are going to give them a hell of an added surprise. Good sh*t!

As for the new trailer, well, first off I really dig the 80s VHS-inspired vibe of the opening logos (these guys know their stuff!). Then there is the new footage, which is cinematic as hell and (as much as I hate to say such a thing) maybe more cinematic than ANY of the FRIDAY THE 13TH films themselves. Yes, even Marcus Nispel’s 2009 reboot. 

Tag to that, seeing famous locations from the films painstakingly recreated here is a total nostalgia trip I’m loving. For the most part I could do without the music, but even that picks up eventually and boasts a “There’s a Man with No Life in His Eyes/ He’s Back (The Man Behind the Mask)” vibe. Plus seeing all of the Jason designs at work in one trailer is almost too cool to take. 

And. Those. Kills! 

Baghead Jason smacks a nerdy girl in the face with a pick-axe, Part 7 Jason punches a hole through a dude’s chest and then peaks through it, a ripped-off jaw, Part 6 Jason impaling a guy’s head – sideways – onto the graveyard spear, and my personal favorite: the multiple axe-hits it takes to bring down the chick in the orange-and-yellow jogging suit. Brutal. And those are just SOME of the kills presented in the new trailer!

This game is going to be epic. I mean, in just the last few minutes we have seen more creative kills than the last 10 years of horror flicks have sent our way. Combined.
