Friday the 13th Part III cabin is being rebuilt & the lake recreated

Friday the 13th is my favorite horror franchise and Jason Voorhees my favorite horror icon, so I'm always interested in seeing pictures from F13 filming locations and hearing stories from fans who have had the chance to visit them. It's sad that so many locations from Part 2 have been demolished, and it was heartbreaking to hear back in 2006 that the cabin from Friday the 13th Part III had burned down, thanks to some people who broke in there one night and tried to start a fire in the fireplace. But while the locations from 2 are gone for good, it sounds like the Part III cabin will soon rise again, just like Jason himself.

The cabin used to stand on the Veluzat Motion Picture Ranch in Saugus, California. Fans who have visited the location since '06 have still had the opportunity to see the barn that was featured in the film, as well as the patch of land where the lake (created just for the production) used to be. YouTuber Scott on Tape recently ventured out to the Veluzat ranch, and during his time there he also interviewed property owner Daniel Veluzat. During their conversation, Veluzat broke some great news:

Unfortunately, we lost the house, but soon we're gonna be putting the house back in, putting the lake back in, and kind of rebuilding this Friday the 13th set back to its original glory days. There's even talk of something happening down the road, so we'll see what happens. I can't talk about that…"

It will be interesting to see what the "something happening" hint is about, but regardless, I am very happy to hear that the cabin and the lake are coming back to the Veluzat Motion Picture Ranch. Here's hoping the place will be built to look exactly the same way it did in Friday the 13th Part III almost 40 years ago.

Scott on Tape's video can be seen below, and the interview with Daniel Veluzat begins at about the 34:30 point.
