Even intergalactic big-game hunters need a change of outfit now and again, after all, you can't keep ripping out spines in the same old thing for decades; that just wouldn't fly. The release of THE PREDATOR is quickly approaching, and although I'm not quite as pumped about the film as I was hoping I'd be at this point, I'm certainly down for whatever director Shane Black has whipped up. As we saw in the last trailer for the film, THE PREDATOR will introduce the Super Predatorâ„¢, a stronger, smarter, and deadlier version of the movie monster we've come to love over the past thirty years. In order to deal with this new threat, our man will need a bit of an upgrade, which you can get a peek at below courtesy of Empire, as well as another shot from the film.
With a number of movies under his belt, the Predator just isn't as scary as he once was, and Shane Black told Empire that, "the challenge became to make it frightening. Cause upon that hinged everything — whether you bought our heroes going up against him and felt a real threat for them. We had to invent a scenario in which the Predators were mysterious and scary again." What do you think of the Predator's new look?
The official synopsis for THE PREDATOR:
From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
THE PREDATOR will hit theaters on September 14, 2018.
