You had to know a sequel to THE PURGE was coming. It is an annual thing. I was surprised that it did as well as it did at the box office. I thought it was okay. Pretty brutal at times. Ethan Hawke is always a plus in my book as well as Lena Headey. So what’s in store for the second installment?
From the looks of it, most of the time spent in the film will be outside. Not exactly the place you want to be during THE PURGE. Frank Grillo heads up the sequel, THE PURGE: ANARCHY. I have no wonder about the quality of this film. They spit it out pretty quick, which is no surprise. When they figured out that the first film did so well they decided not to waste any time on getting another one out. Give the fans what they want, right? It doesn’t look terrible. At least in my humble opinion. Grillo is the big selling point here. If this is a success then he’ll have this and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLIDER in his pocket so good for him.
”Just remember what good the purge does.”
