When Darren Aronofsky was originally planning to helm Fox Searchlight’s JACKIE, he had his then wife at the time, Rachel Weisz in mind to play the lead. Then one day, Weisz fell for Daniel Craig and the next thing you know, Aronofsky is getting divorce papers. So when they broke it off, Aronofsky dropped out of the project and Weisz did the same not too long after.
In 2010, Steven Spielberg was flirting with the idea of taking on the role of the film’s helmer, and then nothing came of it. Would Spielberg think of taking on the project again if Natalie Portman was involved?
