Last we heard from 20th Century Fox's upcoming FRANKENSTIEN was that Daniel Radcliffe was set to star as Igor, the hunchback assistant to Victor Frankenstein. Now, according to Deadline Fox is having both Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston (above) and ROCKNROLLA's Toby Kebbel (below) read for the part of Victor Frankenstein. While the list of possible candidates could expand, early word is that Fox is expecting to have a decision by next week. I'm a fan of both actors and while neither of these guys are a lock just yet, it's likely that the role is going to one of them. I really dig Huston's work on Boardwalk Empire so I wouldn't mind seeing what he could bring to such a classic role like this one if he got the part.
Paul McGuigan will direct the latest take on Mary Shelley's masterpiece. The film is based on a script by CHRONICLE scribe Max Landis and is said to put a sci-fi spin on the classic tale about a creature constructed through a scientific experiment.
Right now Fox has the film scheduled for an October 14, 2014 release.
