Fox has just announced their full weekly schedule, and the horror offerings are pretty robust this year. Although nothing seems like it'll be a smash hit à la The Walking Dead, it's always a boon to have more selection of darker delights on television. The network hasn't announced specific premiere dates, but here's what your week in horror will look like on Fox:
The Exorcist, which has just received a full series order, will be airing on Fridays from 9 to 10 PM:
More than four decades after the Academy Award-nominated film solidified itself as the greatest horror movie ever made, The Exorcist returns in series format as a propulsive psychological thriller following two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession. The show stars GEena Davis, Brianne Howey, Alfonso Hererra, Hannah Kasulka, Ben Daniels, and Kurt Egyiawan.
Lucifer will be airing its second season on Mondays from 9 to 10 PM:
Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
Scream Queens will air its second season on Tuesdays from 9 to 10 PM (which seems to be the preferred slot for your dose of horror):
The Chanels (Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Abigail Breslin) will get exonerated, after which they will all attend the same med school. Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) will then buy the hospital where the Chanels have enrolled. When Scream Queens picks back up, Officer Denise Hemphill (Niecy Nash) will have been promoted to a high-ranking FBI agent who becomes involved in the new murder investigation, in which former Red Devil Hester (Lea Michele) will also play a role.
Sleepy Hollow will hit midseason with its fourth season in The Exorcist's slot, Fridays from 9 to 10 PM:
Ichabod Crane awakes from the throes of death 250 years in the future where he must solve a mystery dating back to the founding fathers. Due to a blood spell cast on a battlefield during the Revolution, the infamous headless horseman is revived along with Crane, and the murderous rider embarks on a bloody rampage in present-day Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod realizes that he must act quickly, for the headless horseman is only the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Detective Abbie Mills, a woman familiar with supernatural experiences, forms a bond with Crane as they try to stop an increasingly vicious cycle of evil.
