And just like that, M. Night Shyamalan is a buzzworthy name again. THE VISIT may not have been a powerhouse thriller, but it became a breakaway hit and proved that the director is capable of getting back on the horse. Blumhouse is giving him a crack at the box office once again with his as-of-yet untitled thriller starring James McAvoy.
The film has now scooped up four more players taking up unspecified roles: Betty Bucklety (EIght is Enough), Anya Taylor-Joy (THE WITCH), Jessica Sula (Skins), and Haley Lu Richardson (THE BRONZE). Betty Buckley, who played protective teacher Miss Collins in Brian de Palma's CARRIE, has previously worked with Shyamalan on his notorious instant cult classic THE HAPPENING.
The other cast members aren't quite as experienced, but are all fresh, exciting, and hungry. I hardly dare to say it, but I'm looking forward to this one.
Details about the film are under lock and key, but rest assured that the second they're revealed (or the movie gets a damn title), you'll be the first to know.
