A year after we first heard that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be starring in a thriller called THE SILENCING, the project is officially in production, with Robin Pront directing from a screenplay by Micah Ranum. As we learned back in February, Annabelle Wallis is also in the film, which tells the story of
a reformed hunter (Coster-Waldau) who becomes involved in a deadly game of cat and mouse when he and the local sheriff Alice Gustafson (Wallis) set out to track a vicious killer who may have kidnapped his daughter years ago.
Now we know the names of four of Coster-Waldau and Wallis's co-stars.
First up is Hero Fiennes-Tiffin (HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE), who is the nephew of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes in real life and in the movie will be playing Alice's troubled younger brother Brooks. Taking on unspecified roles are Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp, pictured above), Zahn McClarnon (Fear the Walking Dead), and Shaun Smyth (Fringe).
THE SILENCING is being produced by Cybill Lui of Anova Pictures. XYZ Films is executive producing and handling global sales. They also represent U.S. sales with Endeavor Content. Wildling Pictures' Matt Code is co-producer.
The story of THE SILENCING sounds interesting to me, so I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
