A Thirst For Blood. A Hunger For Redemption.
Barney Cohen and James D. Parriott's cult classic vampire-cop series, FOREVER KNIGHT (pre-order HERE) started as a CBS TV movie, with Rick Springfield playing the title character. The Canadian television series followed an 800-year-old vampire named Nick Knight working as a police detective in modern-day Toronto. Wracked with guilt for centuries of killing others, he seeks redemption by working as a homicide detective on the night shift while struggling to find a way to become human again. The series premiered in 1992 and concluded with the third-season finale in 1996.
And today we have word the complete series is headed our way on DVD this July.
I have never seen an episode of the series, to be honest, but I do remember seeing the commercials running for it all the time on… what was it? The USA Network, or something like that. TNT? I can't quite remember but all the same, the quick promos for the series stuck with me since childhood and the show has always been a point of interest for me. Guess I'll finally be able to check it out soon!
Check out the DVD cover art below and then let us know if you plan to snag the full series on DVD later this year. Meanwhile, here is the synopsis:
Nick Knight is an 800-year-old vampire working as a homicide detective on the graveyard shift in modern-day Toronto, a result of his feeling of guilt for centuries of killing others and seeking redemption for his acts. Most of his colleagues are unaware of Nick's true identity as a vampire. Only his friend, city medical examiner Natalie Lambert, knows about Nick's identity as a vampire. One advantage of having a vampire working on the police force is the ability for Nick to use his superhuman characteristics, including enhanced senses and mind control, to help him bring criminals to justice. Nick's quest for redemption becomes more complicated when fellow vampires arrive in Toronto and throw obstacles in front of him as he strives to reach his ultimate goal — becoming human once again.
The vampire crime horror series was created by Barney Cohen and James D. Parriott. It starred Geraint Wyn Davies, Catherine Disher, Nigel Bennett, Ben Bass, Deborah Duchêne, Blu Mankuma, John Kapelos, Lisa Ryder, and Gary Farmer. This title will be released on July 9, 2019.
