In 1981, For Your Eyes Only marked a new era for James Bond in more ways than one. After going to space in the controversial (but wildly successful) Moonraker, the choice was made to bring James Bond Movies back down to earth. To that end, John Glen was promoted to director, a post he would keep all through the eighties, while Roger Moore's James Bond was given a mature, order edged overhaul. The result was a critically acclaimed, successful Bond outing that stands as one of the series most underrated gems.
