Earlier today EW released some first looks at the new Disney live-action movie, ALADDIN, which showed off the best looks yet at Jasmine (Naomi Scott), Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and Genie (Will Smith). Some of you who are excited about the movie may be wanting a new trailer that shows all of them in action across the sandy deserts and in the city of Agrabah, but it appears we will have to wait a little bit for that. In the meantime, a new video has come out featuring tons of BTS footage from the movie as well as brief soundbites from the main cast, giving you a look at the rich production values. Shocking lack of footage Aladdin’s monkey companion Abu though, so that must be remedied.

Teasing some of the movie’s more spectacular moments, we get to see Aladdin running across rooftops – possibly away from some sort of security officers who do not care for his street urchin ways. As well we get a few glimpses at moments from the musical numbers, teasing some big, colorful costumes and plenty of action in the streets. With only a few months left we should be getting a full, official trailer at some point that puts everything they’ve been working on on display, but like LION KING and AVENGERS, do they really need a trailer? This movie is going to make bank regardless.
If you haven’t already, be sure to head here to take a look at the new images from the movie, which show the characters in full costume and features words from Ritchie and Smith about the look and approach to the new Genie. No, we don’t have a look at him yet in his big, blue form, but what did you expect? Gotta save the good stuff for later.
ALADDIN is in theaters May 24, 2019.
