Danielle Harris has been acting ever since she was a child, and over the last few decades she has earned over 100 screen acting credits. Many of the films on that list are in the horror genre, ranging from 1988’s Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers to 2020’s Redwood Massacre: Annihilation. Harris has now signed on to star in yet another horror project, a film called Flesh.
Chris McGowan will be directing Flesh from a screenplay he wrote with Reine Swart. Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but Deadline hears that the story involves
a deranged individual who wants to sacrifice human flesh to a malevolent spirit.
Which is enough detail to get me interested, especially when paired with the casting of Harris.
McGowan is also producing Flesh, with Harris serving as executive producer. The film is being financed by Clear Media Finance and is expected to start filming in October. A month that has been very good to Harris. In addition to Halloween 4, she was also in Halloween 5, Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake, and Zombie’s Halloween II. Beyond the Halloween franchise, she may be best known for playing the heroine in Hatchet II and Hatchet III.
McGowan made his feature directorial debut with last year’s Chasing Nightmares, a thriller that starred Graham McTavish, Anne Heche, Spencer Daniels, and Michelle Randolph. Swart wrote and directed the 2020 horror film The Hex, and also had acting roles in the film Triggered and the TV series Z Nation.
Harris has a lot of horror-loving fans, many of whom grew up watching her various genre films, so it’s always good news whenever it’s announced that she’s doing another horror movie. We’ll keep you updated on Flesh as her latest horror project continues to move forward.
Maybe we’ll even hear some more plot details once this thing starts filming next month.
