I want everyone to just take a
minute and check out the image above, because it very well may be one of the
most disturbing things that I’ve ever seen.
That disturbing still is courtesy of
Fangoria from the Canadian filmed horror MARTYR; and it keeps
reminding me of the first time I saw
PET SEMATARY and how messed up I was after seeing Aunt Zelda and her
spasmodic bed-sore ridden body.
MARTYR, written and directed
by Pascal Laugier, tells the story
of Anna, once a missing little girl found wandering a year later on a country
road, virtually catatonic after suffering some sort of physical abuse. She grows
into a comely young woman, but she’s got serious issues. She also has a close
friend, Lucie, and that’s who she ultimately calls after she finds herself in an
unusual house in the middle of the forest, there to exorcise her demons in quite
violent and visceral fashion. There’s something very disturbing about the
Bauhaus-esque home, something Anna can’t quite put her finger on.
If the above photo is any indication
of how visually disturbing MARTYR is going to be, it’ll definitely be
springing onto horror fans maps everywhere because seriously, it’s messed up.
(God I can’t get over it. It’s like a train wreck; I can’t get look away.) To
