Five new character posters debut for David O. Russell’s American Hustle with Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

AMERICAN HUSTLE, the new Scorsese-like drama from director David O. Russell, has debuted five new character posters featuring stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, and Jeremy Renner, looking stunningly '70's in all their collective glory. The film looks like an absolute blast, even though they've hardly shown more than a lot of excess, tears, ass shaking/slapping/popping, in the trailer, while surfing over Led Zeppelin's 'Good Times, Bad Times.' Such a great cast and a terrific filmmaker all tackling what feels like someting ripped right out of Martin Scorsese's repertoire and these posters only serve to whet my appetite further.

Groovy!:

Here's the synopsis:

The story of a con artist and his partner in crime, who were forced to work with a federal agent to turn the tables on other cons, mobsters, and politicians – namely, the volatile mayor of impoverished Camden, New Jersey.

It's nice to see each of the male leads taking on a less-than-appealing appearance for AMERICAN HUSTLE. I mean, you have a balding former Batman with a beer gut (Bale), a perm-headed, blinged-out former A-Team member (Cooper), and a pompadour-wielding Avenger (Renner). Talk about going the opposite direction. Adams and Lawrence, however, simply can't stop looking hot, no matter what era they're in. And I have no problem with that.

AMERICAN HUSTLE hits theaters on December 25, 2013.
