I was completely sold on the upcoming Fangoria production V.F.W. as soon as I heard about it last month. A movie described as "THE WILD BUNCH meets NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD", in which DON'T BREATHE's Stephen Lang plays a military veteran fighting off punk mutants at his local V.F.W.? Sign me up! Now my excitement for this project has just quintupled with the addition of five of the coolest actors around.
Joining Lang in the cast are William Sadler (Death himself from BILL & TED'S BOGUS JOURNEY), Fred "The Hammer" Williamson (FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, pictured above), Martin Kove (THE KARATE KID), David Patrick Kelly (THE WARRIORS), and the "Norm!" of Cheers, George Wendt.
These actors will be playing a group of
military buddies as they must defend their local V.F.W. post – and an innocent teen – against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants.
These punk mutants don't stand a chance.
This group of badasses aren't the only new additions to the cast. Sierra McCormick, Dora Madison, Tom Williamson, Travis Hammer, Graham Skipper, and Jesse Kove have also signed on to appear in the film.
Joe Begos will be directing V.F.W. from a screenplay by Max Brallier and Matthew McArdle.
The film is being produced by Dallas Sonnier, Amanda Presmyk, and Josh Ethier, with David Gilbery, Charles Dorfman, Adam Donaghey, Phil Nobile Jr, Danielle Cox, Bobby Campbell, Noah Lang, Stephen Lang, Matthew McArdle, and Max Brallier serving as executive producers.
V.F.W. will begin filming in Dallas, Texas very soon.
