The long-awaited adaptation of Orson Scott Card's ENDER'S GAME is just around the corner and today we have our first look at a TV spot for the film. It's a fairly explosive spot that focuses heavily on some space-heavy action and intense, close-up statements from the film's stars, including Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, and Ben Kingsley. I still can't tell if folks are excited or indifferent to this, but I know there's a fairly loyal fanbase of the book that will certainly be catching this in theaters. It's a strong cast and it looks really sharp. Hopefully, that's enough.
Get in the game:
I wouldn't say that I'm anxiously awaiting this film so much as I'm genuinely curious if they pull it off. Having not read the book, I'll be interested to hear what die-hard fans of it have to say after seeing the film. I certainly don't think you have to read the source novel of every movie that hits theaters (shit, sometimes it works against you), but in this instance the book is so revered that it has a lot to live up to.
ENDER'S GAME, directed by Gavin Hood, hits theaters on November 1, 2013.
