With comic book adaptations popping up all over the place these days, it's getting harder and harder to keep track of some of the more under-the-radar films coming our way. One of which is PREY: THE LIGHT IN THE DARK, a live action adaptation of the Prey: The Beginning comic book that made a splash at last year’s New York Comic Con to rave reviews. Prey: The Beginning was a one-off comic with a character created by Nathan Reid, which has been adapted into a feature film and we have its first trailer right here for you guys to take a look at.
Tyler Mane, best known for playing Sabertooth in the first X-MEN, stars as the title character of Prey. A character with the ability to see the inner core of an individual and discern that of a killer from an innocent man. Prey has the power of purification; an opening of the spirit realm to allow the spirits of those harmed to interact with their attacker and eventually cause their demise.
The synopsis:
Reborn as the newest member of an ancient order tasked with keeping balance of life and death, the Shepherd Prey discovers his powers by listening to the voices of the restless dead and delivering retribution against those that wronged them. Prey’s service to the afterlife and his coming conflicts are only just beginning.
Produced by Nathan Reid and Jodie Bentley, of Reinventing Films, PREY: THE LIGHT IN THE DARK also stars Oded Fehr and Masashi Odate.
