With its debut in just a few weeks at the Stanley Film Festival, Ben Cresciman’s psychological thriller SUN CHOKE has unveiled its first trailer, highlighting the twisted nightmare of a mentally disturbed girl played by Sarah Hagan, who is best known for supporting roles on Freaks and Geeks and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
The film roots itself in loneliness and abandonment, as Cresciman tells THR that, "Loneliness is one of the most universal experiences, but people don't think of it in terms of it being a terrifying experience. But there’s nothing for me more terrifying. It's about what happens when that loneliness meets the real world." Surrounded in an uneasy atmosphere, SUN CHOKE's slow-burning first trailer is a good one. Check it out below!
What it’s about:
The film centers on the mentally disturbed Janie, recovering in isolation under the close eye of her caretaker. When she's released from her home, she forms a relationship with another young woman that becomes invasive and obsessive.
SUN CHOKE also stars Barbara Crampton and Malakul Lane.
