THOR: RAGNAROK marks the third Marvel release this year, and for many, it is the most-anticipated. Giving Thor (Chris Hemsworth) a bit of makeover – both physically and stylistically – RAGNAROK is shaping up to be the funniest and zaniest film in the MCU. The movie screened for the first batch of critics last night, and though the review embargo doesn’t lift until October 19 they were free to take to Twitter to, hopefully, praise the film. Praise they did, as critics are universally loving the flick, and in their reactions have given particular nods to the movie’s humor, score and on Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, who apparently steals the entire show. Check out the reactions below!
These reactions, of course, don't speak for every critic, and we will have to wait for another week or so to find out what completely written reviews say, but so far this assures fans that Taika Waititi's decision to do something vastly different has paid off in spades. Everything the trailers promise – from a visual feast to a hilarious romp – was delivered, and word is Hemsworth does his best work yet as the God of Thunder. Another happy surprise comes in praise for the movie's score, which was a notable standout for a lot of the reviewers. The Marvel movies aren't exactly beloved for their music (sans Alan Silvestri's AVENGERS work), but it seems Mark Mothersbaugh as hit it out of the park with his work. Shout outs to Mark Ruffalo, Thompson, Cate Blanchett and more signal great work from the whole cast, and come November, it seems we can expect another massive Marvel hit.
THOR: RAGNAROK arrives November 3.
