Seth MacFarlane’s TED went on to gross over $500 million worldwide, becoming one of the most successful R-rated comedies of all-time. A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST had a similar budget of $40-$50 million and didn't make more than $90 million when all was said and done. Do people prefer the voice acting of Seth Macfarlane over the live acting? Or maybe they just love a teddy bear that can drink and curse, yes that makes sense actually.
We still don’t know much about the sequel other than Mark Wahlberg is back and he and Ted are getting into some sort of pickle where they need a civil rights lawyer played by Morgan Freeman and they go to Comic-Con for some reason. The female lead this time around will be played by Amanda Seyfried in place of Mila Kunis.
EW has given us the first image from the film featuring the two friends out for a day of scuba diving. I noticed that Ted has a shovel with him; could they be looking for treasure? Perhaps they’re trying to find a reason for this movie to exist? On a positive note, MacFarlane told EW that there won’t be any new talking bears or plush whatever in the sequel. “It’s basically the way we treated Stewie in Family Guy, he’s the only one of his kind who can talk.” Thank goodness for that.
TED 2 opens June 26, 2015. Are you looking forward to another round with Ted?
