Who watches the Watchmen, you ask? Apparently, it's a bunch of rabid fans who're foaming at the mouth for details, that's who. On Monday afternoon, the official WATCHMEN Instagram account shared a first look at the upcoming series from LOST and THE LEFTOVERS creator Damon Lindelof. The brief video footage, which depicts an officer of the law with their face covered by a yellow cloth, has already set the pic's comments section ablaze with wild guesses as to who the mysterious character could be. My guess would be that the cloth if a placeholder for effects that have yet to be added in, though others would have you believe that the upcoming series is already ruined forever thanks in-part to this mysterious tease. I'm more of a wait-and-see kind of kind of guy, so you'll pardon me if I haven't taken to fashioning a torch and sharpening my pitchfork just yet.

In the past, Lindelof has stated that his WATCHMEN will not be a direct adaptation of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons-created cult classic series, but rather a "remix" of the Watchmen world we all know and have come to love. So far, we don't have much in the way of plot details about the new show, though we've gotten word that stars the likes of Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, and Tim Blake Nelson will each be along for what's hoped to be a very wild ride.
Be sure to stay close as more information regarding HBO's WATCHMEN series is bound to start rolling in, now that filming has begun. Will any players from the original story show up? Will one of Lindelof's creations become your new favorite character of the series? Is the person in the yellow mask a deciple of Rorschach? Hurm, so many questions, not enough answers. Regardless, HBO's WATCHMEN will arrive in 2019.
