First teaser for Peter Jackson-produced Mortal Engines races in

Peter Jackson has already worked his magic on one beloved series of books, and now he’s back at it again helping bring the book series MORTAL ENGINES to the big screen. Producing the movie, Jackson co-wrote the script along with his wife Fran Walsh (also producing) and Phillipa Boyens (the trio did LORD OF THE RINGS), leaving directing duties to Christian Rivers. The movie, which is about a post-apocalyptic future wherein roving cities devour each other for resources, will surely be a visual spectacular, and the first teaser for the movie proves it by showing a now mobile London swallowing a less extravagant vehicle/city.

Starring Robert Sheehan, Hera Hilmar, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Lang and more, the teaser comes a full year before the movie’s release, which is on December 14, 2018. This is probably the most footage we will get for some time, and the visual effects probably aren’t entirely finished. That being said the movie looks pretty bonkers, as a movie about cities on wheels eating each other very well should.

MORTAL ENGINES arrives December 14, 2018.
