First teaser for Damien; A&E’s Omen sequel series starring Bradley James

There was once a time when a television spin-off of a film was something to be mocked, but when Hannibal rolled around (and to a lesser extent Bates Motel) I knew I had to change my tune. Those shows, among others, proved that you could successfully transform what worked on the big-screen in new and exciting ways.

In keeping with the trend of adapting classic horror films to television, we bring you Damien, a new series inspired by THE OMEN. Damien was first developed for Lifetime but recently made the move to A&E who have now released their first teaser for the series. Check it out below!

It's hard to judge a potential series on such a brief teaser, but I think the concept is solid and potential for something dark and beautiful is high. Bradley James takes on the role of the adult Damien Thorn in the 10 episode A&E series which is being written and executive produced by former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara.

The ten-episode ‘Damien’ follows the adult life of Damien Thorn (James), the mysterious child from the 1976 film who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.

Damien will premiere on A&E in 2016.
