Like a nice glass of Spider-Juice. In less than two weeks, Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will come to a close with SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (although it was announced earlier today that AVENGERS: ENDGAME will be returning to theaters with a few new surprises next weekend) and the first reactions from the latest Marvel flick have been revealed! SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME finds Peter Parker (Tom Holland) heading out on a European vacation with his classmates, only to find his trip interrupted when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits him to fight against elemental creatures attacking across the continent. Let's see what critics across Twitter have to say about the film.
#SpiderManFarFromHome is a very worthy follow-up to the phenomenal #Homecoming. Tom Holland proves (once again) that he's the definitive Peter Parker, and his chemistry with @Zendaya is legitimately sweet and engaging.

Jake Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck is, shall we say, an intriguing character from start to finish. Can't spoil much about him, but Gyllenhaal has an absolute blast playing him, and the relationship between #Mysterio and Peter is pretty fascinating, especially toward the end
— Eric Walkuski (@ericwalkuski) June 19, 2019
Not unlike #Homecoming, there is such good stuff generated simply from the teens being teens. Yes, the action and superhero stuff is loads of fun, but I smiled *so* much throughout the European vacation aspects. @MartinStarr steals absolutely every scene he's in
— Eric Walkuski (@ericwalkuski) June 19, 2019
The action in #SpiderManFarFromHome is really compelling though; you'd think @MarvelStudios would have exhausted their ability to dish out exciting flurries of superhero mayhem, but nope, this stuff is still riveting entertainment.
— Eric Walkuski (@ericwalkuski) June 19, 2019
Finally, #SPIDERMAN fans will lose their minds during one of the post-credits scenes. Not gonna say anything more, but it's just… so right. #SpiderManFarFromHome

#SpiderManFarFromHome had the difficult task of following two epic Avengers movies AND Spider-Verse and succeeds by telling a smaller, classical story about Peter Parker caught between what he wants and what responsibility demands. Pure cat(spider)nip for Spidey fans like me. pic.twitter.com/G2a4p6YhAr

#SpiderManFarFromHome: far superior to its predecessor & really delightful, w/a terrific theme of trust well-threaded throughout. Could say more, but it's spoiler-laden, full of fun secrets, so be careful who you follow and what they say. Jake G is great #SpiderMan #FarFromHome

#SpiderManFarFromHome is funny, exciting, romantic, goofy & follows HOMECOMING in being this brilliant ground-level look at Spidey's world & how the events of #AvengersEndgame impacted everyday life. Lots of twists & turns, plus some adorable summer romances, too. I'm a big fan pic.twitter.com/NUX0f8YFM0
— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) June 19, 2019
Everyone in the film shines, but the chemistry between Peter and MJ is undeniable & honestly tops the other versions we've seen of this friendship. Their journey in this film is so rewarding & cute & surprising & I adore them. You will too.
— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) June 19, 2019
Also, yes, of course stay for the credits. And while I will say nothing of what you will see, staying for the credits has never been as important & eventful as it is for this particular film. So don't go anywhere!
— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) June 19, 2019
absolutely loved #SpiderManFarFromHome. Captures the spirit of the comics and mixes in some amazing movie magic. The second the film ended I wanted to watch it again. #JakeGyllenhaal is fantastic as Mysterio. pic.twitter.com/4ZYaS0L8mf
— Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) June 19, 2019
I know you hear this all the time, but I'm telling you avoid spoilers on #SpiderManFarFromHome. You will enjoy the film so much more…
And like all @MarvelStudios movies…you should stay in your seat till the very end. pic.twitter.com/QMayIGQlaW

Spider-Man: Far From Home made me smile from start to finish. Its got huge reveals and exciting set pieces but the way it builds off Endgame to to dive deeper into Peter’s emotions is really what make it soar. Mysterio also rules. I can’t wait to see it again. pic.twitter.com/FvP3B53MOX
— Germain Lussier (@GermainLussier) June 19, 2019
#Spiderman #FarFromHome is SUCH a good movie! Jake Gyllenhaal suits up & completely embraces his role in its entirety & he’s clearly having a blast. This is such a refreshing film after the heaviness of #EndGame. The post-credit scenes are a MUST WATCH & will blow your dang mind! pic.twitter.com/wcTh9iHaYq
— Maude Garrett (@maudegarrett) June 19, 2019
#SpiderManFarFromHome is the coda we needed after Endgame, a glimpse of how the world looks now that the dust has settled. Could maybe have gone a bit harder on P's emotional arc, but bursting with warmth and humor and awkward teen romance. ???? Also: Jake G = perfect casting.
— Angie J. Han (@ajhan) June 19, 2019
Absolutely loved SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. I’m a huge Mysterio fan and Gyllenhaal nails him. Also the movie is very clever (and funny) how it handles the fallout post ENDGAME in explaining how this world works now.
— Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) June 19, 2019
And obviously with Mysterio involved, there are some pretty bizarre scenes. Honestly I always kind of assumed a Mysterio movie wasn’t really possible, but Jon Watts and company pulled it off.
— Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) June 19, 2019
Oh and for me SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME had three legit “holy shit” shocking moments.
— Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) June 19, 2019
A reaction tweet: #SpiderManFarFromHome is wonderful. It’s funny and clever and filled with smart twists. (It also made me have incredibly visceral memories of class trips of yore.) I didn’t leave the theater sad! I am not worried about superheroes’ emotional states! Zendaya!!

#SpiderManFarFromHome isn't quite as wonderful as Homecoming, but it's a really strong, endearing sequel that delivers some excellent moments in its second half in particular. It commendably furthers Peter's story while laying groundwork for what's next in a notably deft way.
— Eric Goldman (@TheEricGoldman) June 19, 2019
Spider-Man: Far from Home is an extremely fun, cleverly executed, and frequently hilarious culmination of the MCU’s wall-crawler’s journey so far. Some very sweet moments, sly commentary and deft action set-pieces throughout #SpiderManFarFromHome pic.twitter.com/5sAmxh4E3p
— Jim Vejvoda (@JimVejvoda) June 19, 2019
I liked it a tad more than Spider-Man: Homecoming, which I loved. Far From Home is a great afterword for Endgame, closing out Marvel Phase 3 with a bang while also setting up new challenges and exciting stuff ahead. That's all I'm gonna say until my review runs.
— Jim Vejvoda (@JimVejvoda) June 19, 2019
#SpiderManFarFromHome! What a fun, solid sequel. Tom Holland so incredibly charming, will watch him in any/all things. Jake Gyllenhaal gets way more to do than expected, clearly had a ball doing it. Also still loving Zendaya's MJ.
— Kara Warner (@karawarner) June 19, 2019
Ok friends. #SpiderManFarFromHome is jaw dropping. First half is a lot of fun, coasting on the good vibes of the HOMECOMING cast. But that second half is EXTRAORDINARY, delivering the BEST Spidey action ever. Most SHOCKING ending in a Spider-Man movie ever. Fans will flip out! pic.twitter.com/VcZR3egUWs
— Sean O'Connell (@Sean_OConnell) June 19, 2019
SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is so good. So heartfelt. So action-packed. So genuinely shocking in a surprising number of ways. If Tom Holland is the future of the #MCU then its in good hands. #SpiderManFarFromHome
— Crystal Bell (@crystalbell) June 19, 2019
I had a big dumb smile on my face through all of #SpiderManFarFromHome. It makes for a lovely companion piece to Endgame, but it's also a top-notch Peter story.
Oh, and Jake Gyllenhaal is clearly having the time of his LIFE.
— Devan Coggan (@devancoggan) June 19, 2019
Didn’t LOVE #SpiderManFarFromHome as much as Homecoming but it’s still a rad take on bearing the weight of great expectations and a fun ode to teen romance. Tom Holland continues to be amazing, Zendaya’s MJ is just as cool as Shuri and Jake G’s an inspired choice for Mysterio. pic.twitter.com/nnu7BPjcFO
— Brian Truitt (@briantruitt) June 19, 2019
FAR FROM HOME has dethroned Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 & is now favorite Spider-Man film.
What’s insane is that I can’t even tell u why I’m so in love with this film because it would be a spoiler.
Gyllenhaal is incredible. Holland re-confirms as the best Spidey to date. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/pbynxYIEyQ
— Kevin McCarthy (@KevinMcCarthyTV) June 19, 2019
I don’t think I’ve been this excited to re-watch a film since Jordan Peele’s Get Out & Us. Watts masterfully layers incredible action, storytelling and character development into a film that will be a whole new experience on the 2nd watch. 2 of the best end credits scenes ever.
— Kevin McCarthy (@KevinMcCarthyTV) June 19, 2019
Pretty damn positive for the most part, which is certainly something to expect from these sort of early reactions, especially when it comes to Marvel movies. I'm always down for another Spidey flick, so here's hoping it's at least half as good as these reactions.
