Although I never got around to watching much of Samurai Jack, I've always admired the distinctive art-style of the series as well as its ability to craft some superb animated action. Twelve years after Samurai Jack came to an end after four seasons, the Genndy Tartakovsky created series is back for one more season which will finally wrap up Jack's story. The fifth and final season of Samurai Jack will pick up fifty years after we last saw our hero, with Jack still trapped in the dystopian future which Aku, the shape-shifting demon supreme Master of Darkness, sent him to. The first clip from the long-awaited fifth season has arrived and features an armoured Jack mowing down scores of robotic bugs on a spiked motorcycle, as you do.
Samurai Jack's fifth season will find the title character broken and lost as he feels as though "he is cursed to just roam the land for all eternity," all while being haunted by his past as well as a cult of assassin's dedicated to killing him for Aku's glory. Speaking of Aku, the character's original voice-actor, Mako, sadly passed away in 2006, but as you can't really complete Samurai Jack's story without Aku, another actor was brought in the replace him.
The ten-episode fifth and final season of Samurai Jack will premiere on March 11, 2017.
