In just three short days fans will finally have the opportunity to see the conclusion to the nine film Skywalker saga when THE RISE OF SKYWALKER blasts its way into theaters. It's been a long road since Disney took over the franchise earlier this decade. While most of the fandom embraced THE FORCE AWAKENS, THE LAST JEDI proved to be incredibly polarizing. Will THE RISE OF SKYWALKER reunite the fanbase? Time will tell.
In the meantime STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER premiered last night in Los Angeles and the first reactions are in. While not all of them are positive, most promise a stunning spectacle that's a LOT of movie and a satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga:
Now it's important to note that often times initial reactions to a film are typically going to be warm. Studios like Disney allow these early reactions because they know most of them will be positive. It certainly seems like that is the case here. However, if you read between the tweets (I suggest checking out other responses) I suspect that some may be disappointed with how THE RISE OF SKYWALKER connects to THE LAST JEDI. It will be interesting to see the reviews on Wednesday and the numerous think pieces that will undoubtedly be coming down the pike. JoBlo's own Matt Rooney and Chris Bumbray will be providing their own takes on the conclusion of the Skywalker saga so a keep a look out for that.
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER starring Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Keri Russell, Lupita Nyong'o, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Richard Grant, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, and Dominic Monaghan hits theaters December 20.
