First poster arrives for Deadfall starring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Charlie Hunnam

The first poster for DEADFALL, a crime thriller from director Stefan Ruzowitzky (THE COUNTERFEITERS), has blown in from the storm, featuring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Charlie Hunnam.  The film premiered at Tribeca this year to mixed reviews and is getting a wider release this winter.

Have a look-see:

DEADFALL has a lot going for it in terms of casting.  Bana is usually great and seeing him as a villain should be pretty cool.  Wilde is smoking hot, Hunnam’s got charisma, and having veterans Kris Kristofferson and Sissy Spacek doesn’t suck.  Oh, and Kate Mara.  I’ll say it again…Kate Mara.

That said, the mixed reviews have left me a little “eh” on this one and the fact that it will premiere on VOD before hitting theaters (no doubt in limited release) doesn’t instill much hope for the flick.  However, it’s definitely one I’d like to see at some point.  Perhaps a trailer will sway me…

Here’s the synopsis:

Siblings Addison (Eric Bana) and Liza (Olivia Wilde) are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances – a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.

DEADFALL premieres on VOD November 2, 2012 and hits theaters on December 7, 2012.
