When folks attending Star Wars Celebration this year got a chance to see some footage from the new STAR WARS TV show, THE MANDALORIAN, there were many reactions that praised it for harkening back to the spirit of the original trilogy. While the rest of us common folk won’t get to see what they’re talking about for a little while, the brand-new poster for the series gives us a better understanding of what those reactions were hinting at.
The first poster for the series from creator Jon Favreau (THE LION KING, IRON MAN) hit the web today, showing that bounty hunter we’ve all seen so much of in circulated press photos walking on the flat, desert land as the orange/yellow sky shines in the background. I could just keep writing about it, or you can scroll on down and see for yourself!

What we do know about the series is that is centers on a bounty hunter, played by Pedro Pascal (GAME OF THRONES), as he traverses the galaxy and gets into, well, I imagine all sorts of business. As for where the show takes place in the STAR WARS timeline, THE MANDALORIAN is set right after the events of THE RETURN OF THE JEDI, after the fall of the Empire, and before the events of FORCE AWAKENS, and the start of the First Order.
Also starring in the series are Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Bill Burr, and Werner Herzog.
Heres's the official synopsis:
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
THE MANDALORIAN arrives with Disney+ on November 12.
