First Pet Sematary poster reminds us that sometimes dead is better

Stephen King adaptations are all the rage right now, especially with the movie IT becoming the highest-grossing horror movie of all time. The newest entry is another take on the classic King tale, PET SEMATARY, and just last week we got the first look at the movie with a bunch of images, including a glimpse at one fiendish cat. Now the first poster for the movie has dropped, and it recalls one famous line that reminds us all why what gets put in the ground needs to stay in the ground, no matter how cuddly your pet was.

Take a look at the poster below with the line “Sometimes dead is better” center stage. It’s even better if you do it in the voice of Fred Gwynne as Jud Crandall from the 1989 film. John Lithgow will take on the role in this movie, so I guess you can try to imagine him saying it too.

The poster comes before tomorrow's trailer, so be sure to come back bright and early tomorrow for when that drops!

Here is the plot synopsis:

Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
