If you haven't seen the last season of Sherlock, you should probably avoid this article. The picture from the BBC One Facebook page isn't a spoiler for the previous season, but the caption from creator Steven Moffat is, and believe me when I say you do not want that shit spoiled. Seriously.
The first image from the third season of Sherlock has been released, and it features Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) outside of a window of a restaurant, staring creepily at Watson (Martin Freeman).
Check out Cumbercreeps:
"It's been a long time since Sherlock Holmes jumped off that roof – it's time to reveal the truth about what happened between him and the pavement" – Steven Moffat.
The question on everyone's lips will finally be answered when Sherlock returns with three brand new action-packed adventures. How did he do it? And how will John take the news that his best friend faked his own death? What will Sherlock think when he finds out John has fallen in love with Mary Morstan?
Sherlock is an absolutely brilliant show, and the chemistry between Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in it is phenomenal. The last episode of season two aired back in January of 2012, so it's been a long time since there has been new Sherlock, but I'm positive that the third season will be well worth the wait.
UK broadcast dates for the third season of Sherlock have not been announced, but the new season will premiere on PBS on January 19th, 2014.
