First Look: Vikings’ Gaia Weiss stars in sci-fi horror film Meander

When we first heard about writer/director Mathieu Turi's sci-fi horror film MEANDER last year, it was set to star SKYFALL Bond girl Berenice Marlohe. That was enough to guarantee that I would be watching the movie, because I loved Marlohe's performance in SKYFALL. But it doesn't look like Marlohe was still attached to the project by the time it went into production.

It has been revealed that MEANDER actually stars Gaia Weiss of Vikings and THE LEGEND OF HERCULES (the one that had Kellan Lutz as Hercules). I'm less familiar with Weiss than I was with Marlohe, but I'm still on board to give MEANDER a look.

Weiss stars as

a woman who wakes up in a labyrinth of strange tubes full of deadly traps. Her only option is to keep moving forward, but it is not clear how far she can get.

She was joined in the cast by Peter Franzen as a man with mysterious intentions.

MEANDER was produced by Fulltime Studio's Eric Gendarme, Thomas Lubeau, Marc Olla and Jordan Sarralie, with Cinefrance Studios' Sandra Karim, Julien Deris, and David Gauquie. The producers released this statement:

With Mathieu’s vision added to Gaia’s talent, we have no doubt this will be a breathless film which will keep the audience on the edge of their seats."

WTFilms co-produced, and the company's Gregory Chambet acknowledged that MEANDER's "contained concept" is reminiscent of the 1997 film CUBE, which "to this day has rarely been equaled."

WTFilms is handling worldwide sales on MEANDER, and they have released the first still from the movie… a still which is oddly low quality, but at least it gives us a look at Weiss in action.
