First Look: Into the Dark’s Valentine’s Day episode

I really wanted to sit down and watch Sophia Takal's NEW YEAR, NEW YOU episode of Hulu's INTO THE DARK last month. But I didn't find the time. Sucks. And while I still have not had the time to watch a single episode of Hulu's INTO THE DARK series, I've been hearing good things. Most of all that Nacho Vigalondo's Christmas movie POOKA! has been the best episode yet. But that may all change this February as INTO THE DARK's new Valentine's Day episode will be hitting. 

The new feature-length episode is called INTO THE DARK: DOWN and it's written by Kent Kubena and directed by Daniel Stamm (THE LAST EXORCISM) and will feature a cast that includes Natalie Martinez (DEATH RACE), Matt Lauria (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS), Arnie Pantoja (SYDNEY WHITE), Diane Sellers (INTO THE DARK: POOKA!), and Christina Leone (INTO THE DARK: FLESH & BLOOD). 

And today, Hulu has released new details and a photo for the episode. You can check out the photo below. But before that, here is the synopsis:

A pair of office of workers get trapped in an elevator over a long Valentine’s Day weekend, but what at first promises to be a romantic connection turns dangerous and horrifying in this Blumhouse mash-up of rom-com and horror film genres.

Down will hit Hulu on February 1st, 2019.

Past that we know March's episode will be based on the Ides of March and is called INTO THE DARK: TREEHOUSE. That tale follows the story of a celeb-chef, Peter Rake, who tries to escape a recent wave of negative tabloid exposure by retreating to his family’s vacation estate in the woods. But the ghosts of Peter’s past are everywhere and debts will be settled. Soon, he realizes that a woman’s place is anywhere that she chooses to be.

INTO THE DARK: TREEHOUSE is written and directed by James Roday and stars Jimmi Simpson (WESTWORLD), Mary McCormack (1408), Shaunette Renee Wilson (BLACK PANTHER), Maggie Lawson (GAMER), Stephanie Beatriz (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Julianna Guill (FRIDAY THE 13TH), Michael Weston, Amanda Walsh, Sutton Foster, and Cass Bugge. INTO THE DARK: TREEHOUSE will arrive on Hulu on March 1st, 2019.

Past those two episodes there will be an April Fool’s Day-centric episode called – get this – I'M JUST FUCKING WITH YOU and another episode called SCHOOL SPIRIT will arrive by the end of the summer. We'll let you know when we hear more. Once again, INTO THE DARK: DOWN will be landing on Hulu on February 1st.
