IFC Midnight has just announced that they will be releasing director Duncan Skiles' thriller THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER in theaters and available on VOD and Digital HD this November. But before that, the film will be hosting its World Premiere Saturday, September 22nd at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
And today we have your first look at the film via two official stills, one of which you can check out above, and the other which you can give a look-see below. Both are simple, but already seem to be holding mucho sinister surprises.
The film stars Charlie Plummer (ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD), Dylan McDermott (AMERICAN HORROR STORY), Samantha Mathis (UNDER THE DOME), and Madisen Beaty (THE MASTER). It marks the feature film debut of Director Duncan Skiles (THE LAST OF THE GREAT ROMANTICS) and is written by Christopher Ford (COP CAR, CLOWN).
Here's the synopsis:
Tyler's a good kid, a boy scout, raised by a poor but happy family in a small, religious town. But when he finds his dad, Don, has disturbing pornography hidden in the shed, he starts to fear that his dad might be Clovehitch, an infamous serial killer that was never caught. Tyler teams up with Kassi, a teenage outcast who's morbidly obsessed with the Clovehitch legend, to discover the truth in time to save his family.
I'm a fan of McDermott for his work on AMERICAN HORROR STORY and so I'm intrigued by this film. Plus, you add in the fact that the film is written by the mind behind CLOWN and COP CAR, and I'm basically already in line for what is sure to be an intense flick, to say the least.
IFC Midnight will release the thriller, THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER in theaters and on VOD and Digital HD on November 16, 2018. End Cue and Myriad will be handling international sales starting with TIFF next week.
