EW snagged the first look at NBC's "Rosemary's Baby" mini series starring Zoe Saldana, Patrick J. Adams and Jason Isaacs. The imagery gives us a quick glance at Zoe Saldana as Rosemary, the iconic young wife and would-be mother who, with her husband, moves into a Paris apartment that has a darkly storied past.
I'm probably more excited for this than I should be, but I really dig the cast and the idea of NBC stretching this story out as a mini series could be great if the pacing is of the slow-burn variety like Roman Polanski's 1968 classic. If they do it right, that sense of dread that Rosemary feels during her pregnancy could really find a way under the audience's skin.
This version of the story will revolve around a young married couple who move into a Paris apartment that has a haunted past. After getting pregnant, the wife becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their neighbors will have ulterior motives when her child is born.
The miniseries will be directed by Agnieska Holland from a screenplay written by Scott Abbott and James Wong. It is based on Ira Levin’s 1967 horror novel.
