UPDATE: Ryan Reynolds has posted yet another photo of Zazie Beetz as Domino. This time, the image comes to the masses courtesy of his Instagram account:
Now that director David Leitch's super sexy spy thriller ATOMIC BLONDE is out in the wild, all eyes are now turned to his next project, 20th Century Fox and Marvel's DEADPOOL 2. With production now is full-swing, it comes as no surprise that DEADPOOL himself, Ryan Reynolds, will be getting in on the sharing of promotional materials for the forthcoming action comedy.
Today, Reynolds took to his official Twitter account to share a first-look photo of his co-star Zazie Beetz (ATLANTA) as Neena Thurman AKA Domino, the luck-manipulating mutant. You can check out the tweet and hilarious photo of Zazie below:
Wow! Personally, I'm really digging Zazie's Domino look. The costume is familiar and nearly comic-book-page-perfect. And hot damn, Zazie's rockin' afro is generating a new visual twist on the character that I'm more than happy to embrace. While I've only read a handful of comic book runs that feature the Domino character, I've spent enough time with her to know that she's an intelligent and cunning mutant who comes equipped with not just guns, but a biting tongue as well. Here's hoping that The Merc with a Mouth's dialogue can keep pace with Marvel's deadly lady luck.
For DEADPOOL 2, Ryan Reynold's assassin in the red pajamas will star alongside Josh Brolin, who is set to play the time-traveling son the X-Men's Cyclops, Cable. Meanwhile, THE STRAIN's Jack Kesy will appear as the film's central villain, though the details as to who that will be have yet to be confirmed. Additionally, Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna and Julian Dennison have also joined the film in roles that have yet to be revealed. Each of these newcomers will act alongside a returning cast that features Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus.
Hold on to your chimichangas, folks. I've got a feeling that the DEADPOOL 2 hype train is just pulling out of the station. Find your seat, grab some tacos, and enjoy the ride!
DEADPOOL 2 is scheduled for a June 1, 2018 release.
